Co-Founders Message
There are times, while reading your devotional that the Lord gives you a
profound “truth” that repeatedly resonates within you. On
January 6th, Eric experienced such a time. Since it would be impossible to
improve upon the wisdom of Henry and Richard Blackaby, we are going to
simply share it with you. Jesus Christ seeks an intimate relationship
with His people, not the rote of religion.

Pearls Of Wisdom
"Balancing Your
Life" - by Bobb Biehl
Do you ever feel out of balance?
You’re over committed,
you’ve missing deadlines, you’re neglecting family and you know
it. You’re neglecting your health, and you know it.
You’re spinning plates and all of a sudden you get this sound of
breaking glass on concrete where you know there have been some plates that
didn’t quite keep spinning and they’ve crashed to the floor
below.

Leadership
"Integrity" -
by Bruce McNicol
"You Can't Handle the
Truth!" Colonel Nathan
Jessup—Jack Nicholson—hurled this zinger to the young attorney
LT Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) in A Few Good Men. A couple minutes later his
words boomeranged back into his veneered life with this harsh lesson: Light
brings truth out of hiding—either because we voluntarily disclose it
or because we get caught. Jessup traded off his integrity years earlier,
the courtroom merely “brought it to light.” This is the reason
for last month’s leader development insight: Don’t Hide.

Prayer
"Misconceptions About
Prayer" - by Jennifer Kennedy Dean
In last month’s issue, we began by asking, “Do your
prayers have power?” This series of articles will progressively
explore what makes prayer work the way the Scripture says it will
work—releasing the power of heaven into the circumstances of earth.
Misconceptions about prayer limit us. These misunderstandings are
perhaps not articulated, but they are obvious in our approach to prayer and
our expectations about prayer. The truth about prayer will free us to pray
with the boldness God intends.
